Our nursery staff is employed by the church year-round and have been trained to provide an exciting and educational Christian environment as well as provide a safe atmosphere. Videos, music classes, crafts and the like reinforce positive learning at an early age. Assistants in the younger nurseries give special care to the babies to ensure their security and their prescribed schedules. Our nursing room and sleeping room for the babies are pleasant, quiet, and well stocked with supplies and rockers for nursing mothers.

Freedom Culture
1st - 5th Grade
Wednesday Evenings at 6:30pm
Families on the Go “Freedom Culture” is a new discipleship program led by Jean & Eman Esmaily and overseen by our Children’s Ministry Director Kara Chen. It is offered for kids through our Families on the Go initiative. We focus on scripture memorization, prayer time, studying of the word, and small group time. This program has special elements that kids love- store night, craft nights, mission night, an award night, games, themes, and more! This new program provides a deep and rich atmosphere for children to be immersed in the Word of God and encourage kids to grow together and build relationships and a foundation that will last all of their lives. Welcome to Freedom Culture!
Kara Chen
Children’s Ministry Director
Kara has always had a heart for teaching and working with children. She graduated from Excelsior University and taught for several years for Fort Bend ISD. Nothing is more satisfying to her than sowing the seeds to help a child master a new concept or idea- which is why she is especially excited and passionate to teach her favorite subject- Jesus!!
Being a pastor’s child, she grew up in the church, but really surrendered her heart and life to Christ during her first year of college. During that time, she became passionate about mission work in China, especially when it came to orphan ministry. In 2015, she went on her first mission trip to China- where she met Daniel, her now husband. They have been married since 2017. The three years of their marriage, they lived in Shanghai, as Daniel researched at a nearby university and she studied Chinese and taught English to the locals.
She believes that wherever we go, whether in our hometown, or overseas, we are ambassadors of Christ and are here on this Earth to share the good news of Jesus!
Terry Parker
Nursery Director
Terry was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but she lived in Texas for the last 43 years. Terry met her husband here in Texas. Her and her Husband have been married for 38 years and are the proud parents of three boys. One married. Terry attended Louisiana State University and University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL). She is an avid LSU Tiger fan! The Beach is her favorite place to relax!
Children and Seniors have a special place in her heart. Terry has been in Cost Control, Inventory Control, Graphic Arts and other jobs but her most treasured job was being a Pre-School Teacher for 11 years and now a Sunday School Director for the 4/5 year olds and the Nursery Director here at the Freedom Center. Planting seeds of Jesus to HIS little children is “the most rewarding thing” she has had the privilege to do!
